Our Pastor

Rev. Keith Marc Amborn was born July 18, 1955, at Lakeland hospital in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, the son of LeRoy and Carol Amborn. He grew up in East Troy, Wisconsin and attended its public schools, graduating from East Troy High School in 1973. He has a sister, Karen (John) Mielke, of East Troy.

Pastor Amborn received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern College, Watertown, Wisconsin, in 1978 and a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Theinsville, Wisconsin, in 1982. He first served St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Barre Mills, Wisconsin (rural La Crosse). He has served St. Paul, since August of 1990.

Pastor Amborn married Bonnie Phillips, a teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on July 27, 1980. Bonnie is now a para-professional at Sherman Multicultural School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She directs the St. Paul choir, and takes part in many of the organizations of the congregation.

Pastor and Bonnie have five children: Christian, an emergency technician at St. Joseph's Hospital, married to Monica; Martin, who works at Western Envelope in Butler; Kirk, who recently received his basic EMT certificate, and is employed by Paratech; Katrina (Ketti) attends MATC and is studying dental hygiene, she also works for Sendik's; and Analise (Ana), a freshman at Wisconsin Lutheran High School, who enjoys volleyball.

Another important member of the Amborn family is Wolfie, a Shetland Sheepdog.

Pastor Amborn enjoys gardening and is especially proud of the biblical herb garden he tends at the parsonage. He also enjoys spending time in Chicago with his family and friends.

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."   Joshua 24:15
